Carl's Jr. brought back its Chili Cheese Burgers and Chili Cheese Fries on Monday. Single, Double and Six Dollar Chili Cheese Burgers will sell for approximately $2.99, $3.99 and $4.79, respectively. The Chili Cheese Fries are smothered with beef chili, topped with melted jack and cheddar cheeses, and served with a fork. They sell for $2.79.
Papa John's is giving away a free, one-topping, pan pizza on Friday to everyone with a Leap Day birthday. The pizza chain also has special Leap Week deals through Friday.
McDonald's is offering a free McSkillet Burrito with purchase of a medium or large beverage during breakfast hours on Thursday and Friday. The made-to-order dish combines scrambled eggs, sausage and skillet potatoes with cheese, roasted red and green bell peppers, onions and salsa in a flour tortilla.
Squatter's Pub Brewery, 147 W. 300 South, is hosting a "Save the 4th East Garden" party March 3, 5-8 p.m. Funds will go toward buying the land at 555 S. 400 East, which Wasatch Community Garden has leased for 25 years. The property is being sold, and WCG must raise $250,000 in order to buy it. Tickets are $25 (www.wasatchgardens.org).So Cupcake, a cupcake bakery, opened last week at 3939 S. Highland Drive. Owner is Natalie Jensen. She was inspired to open a cupcakery while visiting Magnolia Bakery in New York City. Jensen's daughter, Celina Wollsieffer, has cerebral palsy, and the Make A Wish Foundation gave her a trip to New York City to see her favorite Food Network chef, Emeril Lagasse.
