Six readers won $50 and a Deseret Morning News Hoops Picks T-shirt this past weekend for their prognosticating skills in the Hoops Picks Contest. Thirty-six runners-up also won T-shirts.

The deadline to enter the 5A boys contests is today at 9 a.m. online via The 4A boys contest closes Tuesday morning, with the 1A boys contest ending Wednesday morning.

2A GIRLS: Michael Johnson of Salina was one of 14 entrants to pick every game correctly, but he won the grand prize by most closely picking the final score. Runner-ups were: Shane Heath, Stansbury Park; George Peterson, Woods Cross; Mont Wade, Heber City; Anthony, Woodruff; Bruce Cooley, Sandy; Brad Gunnell, Orem.

2A BOYS: Stacia Topham of Delta was one of two contestants to pick 13 of 15 games correctly and won the tie breaker with more correct quarterfinal picks. Runners-up were: Nathan Bridge, Ephraim; Clint Barney, Panguitch; Ryan Aagard, Fountain Green; Jens Nielson, Blanding; Jenni Fisher, Panguitch

3A GIRLS: Bill Pettersson of West Jordan picked all 15 games correctly and won the tiebreaker with one other person with with a closer final score. Runners-up were: Erich Berkman, Salt Lake City; Lizzy Graham, Tooele; Steve Pimper, South Jordan; Mary Waters, American Fork; Hyrum Newton, Wendell; Dawain Wheatley, Heber City.

3A BOYS: Six contestants picked 14 of 15 games correctly, but Park City's P.J. Parrish was only three points off the final score. Runners-up were: Shane Heath, Stansbury Park; Carey Baker, Heber City; Travis Thompson, Roosevelt; Ryne Jones, Castle Dale; Alan Wamsley, Smithfield.

4A GIRLS: Mont Wade of Heber City was the only entrant to pick 13 of 15 games correctly to win the grand prize. Runners-up were: George Peterson, Woods Cross; Jennifer Hill, West Jordan; Josie Aagard, Fountain Green; Nolan Lutz, Weston; Wendy Kennedy, Randolph; Gay Aagard, Fountain Green.

5A GIRLS: Three contestants picked 13 of 15 games correctly, but Sandy's Tom Spangler came closest to the final score to win the grand prize.
