Saturday on TV

College basketball: New Mexico at Utah (noon, The mtn.); BYU at San Diego State (9 p.m., CSTV)

NBA (7 p.m., FSN): Hawks at Jazz

Knight Rider (8 p.m., Ch. 5): There WAS a reason NBC didn't preview this show for critics before it aired on Sunday. It stinks to high heaven. Hold your nose! (R)

Saturday Night Live (10:30 p.m., Ch. 30): Tina Fey hosts the first new episode since before the writers' strike.

Sunday on TV

Barbara Walters Oscar Special (5 p.m., Ch. 4): This is called an "Oscar Special" only because it airs before the Academy Awards, not because it has much to do with the Oscars. Babs interviews one nominee — best-actress hopeful Ellen Page ("Juno") as well as Harrison Ford, Vanessa Williams and Miley Cyrus.

Oscars Red Carpet Show (6 p.m., Ch. 4): This is generally one of the most embarrassing half hours on TV. But there is some degree of hope this year because Regis Philbin is hosting.

Academy Awards (6:30 p.m., Ch. 4): Live from Hollywood.

Masterpiece (8 p.m., Ch. 7): "Pride and Prejudice" continues. (R)

Dexter (9 p.m., Ch. 2): The other serial killer contacts Dexter.
