LAYTON — The city could have a future "powerline park."

Layton City Manager Alex Jensen said the city has recently acquired 22 acres from Rocky Mountain Power, under the easternmost power line corridor along West Hill Field Road.

Layton envisions a possible trail on the land, that cost the city about $10,000 an acre, much less than the going rate for land elsewhere.

Besides the possible recreational uses for the property, it could also house some future water retention ponds.
