Marcus Lewis scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half and had a key late basket to help Oral Roberts outlast Southern Utah 71-62 in a Summit League game on Tuesday night in Tulsa, Okla.

Lewis, a 6-foot-8 junior, was 6-of-10 from the field and on free throws to help the Golden Eagles (19-6, 14-1 Summit) withstand 6-7 junior Geoff Payne's career-high 35 points and 15 rebounds for the Thunderbirds (8-18, 6-9).

The Golden Eagles went on a 17-0 run midway through the first half and led the rest of the game, including 36-29 at halftime.

Southern Utah jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes as Payne scored four and Marek had a 3-pointer. Oral Roberts countered with 17 consecutive points.

TOOLSON LEADS UTAH VALLEY: At Durham, N.C., Ryan Toolson scored 31 points, including a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line, as Utah Valley State held off North Carolina Central for a 69-62 victory on Tuesday.

Both teams shot 40 percent from the field for the game, but N.C. Central was cold in the first half and fell behind 31-17 at the break. Richard Troyer scored 12 points and Jordan Brady scored 10 for the Wolverines (13-14).

NO. 13 UCONN 65, DEPAUL 60: At Hartford, Conn., Hasheem Thabeet had 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocked shots and No. 13 Connecticut rallied from a 13-point deficit to beat DePaul 65-60 on Tuesday night to extend the Huskies' winning streak to 10 games.

NO. 15 INDIANA 77, NO. 14 PURDUE 68: At Bloomington, Ind., Eric Gordon scored 22 points for Indiana in the Hoosiers' last game before the completion of the school's investigation into accusations that coach Kelvin Sampson committed major rules violations. D.J. White, playing despite a sprained left knee, had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Hoosiers (22-4, 11-2 Big Ten), who snapped Purdue's 11-game winning streak.

BRADLEY 72, NO. 16 DRAKE 71: At Des Moines, Iowa, Jeremy Crouch's jumper with 11 seconds left capped Bradley's 12-2 game-closing run that gave the Bulldogs their first home loss of the season.
