Volunteer Income Tax Assistance — Volunteer a minimum of three hours a week through April 15, 2008. Help low-income families keep more of what they earn and bring millions of dollars into our economy. Training provided.

Discovery Gateway — Volunteer hosts needed for traveling exhibit called Sesame Street: The Body. Volunteers work to help guide and direct guests through exhibits and many other opportunities.

4H — Mentors needed to work with youth in after-school programs, detention or youth court 1-2 hours a week. Call 801-468-3130.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah — Volunteers help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships in the community and schools. The group matches children with adults who similar interests.

Camp Hobe — Volunteers needed for summer camp: June 14 to 20, to help campers ages 6 to 12; June 22 to 27 to help campers ages 12 to 19; and June 22 to 24, for campers ages 4 to 7. Positions include counselors, activity leaders, cooks, medical staff and lifeguards.

International Rescue Committee — VITA-certified volunteers or CPAs needed to file refugees' taxes at on-site tax preparation workshop. Two to four hours a week during February.

Juvenile Justice Service — Volunteers needed to help incarcerated youth. Opportunities include reading groups, financial fitness groups and recreational activities. Hours are flexible.

People Helping People — Volunteers needed who can give low-income women the knowledge, tools, confidence and encouragement to earn a living wage. Volunteers serve 8 to 12 hours a month.

Salt Lake County Aging Legacy Corps — Salt Lake County Aging Services is looking for new volunteers for the Legacy Corps program. Volunteers provide respite care to people in Salt Lake County. Volunteers must commit to one year of service and will receive a yearly stipend of $2,200. Sign up now — the new year starts April 1.
