The real reason for the proposed laws that would make life more difficult for the "illegals" is because many people don't like how America has changed with the influx of the Hispanic population. The fact is it has changed. And it is not ethical to persecute thousands of people into leaving. We are dealing with real human beings and real families.

We can treat them with compassion and help integrate them into become functioning members of society, or we can do what we are now doing and maintain a permanent underclass in America.

The "round 'em up and ship 'em out philosophy" would leave America with a scar on its history 100 times worse than the "Trail of Tears." Immigration is the big test for our generation, and we are failing it.
