Salt Lake City police say multiple people have stepped forward claiming they might have been sexually assaulted by one of two massage therapists arrested in unrelated incidents Wednesday.

Robert Barela, 27, and Robert Jones, 30, are each accused of raping or sexually assaulting female customers whom they were giving massages.

Jones, who worked at Matrix Massage, 533 S. 700 East, was being held in the Salt Lake County Jail Thursday for investigation of forcible sodomy and forcible sex abuse. Police say Jones was not a licensed massage therapist in Utah.

Barela, who worked at Massage Envy, 655 E. 400 South, was booked for investigation of rape and two counts of forcible sex abuse.

Thursday, Salt Lake police detective Jeff Bedard said additional former customers from both facilities had called detectives saying they may have also been victimized. Bedard said detectives were in the process of interviewing each person.

Massage Envy released a statement saying the company was fully cooperating with police and, "We are conducting our own internal investigation of this incident and will take the appropriate steps at the conclusion."
