Night classes at Utah State University have been canceled due to a significant amount of snow and strong winds that are expected to continue until at least 10 p.m. today.

"We are concerned for the safety of our students, faculty and staff because of the winter storm we are experiencing in the northern Utah region," said Raymond T. Coward, USU provost and executive vice president. "We believe it is unsafe to bring people on campus during this severe weather."

Classes at USU are expected to resume as normal Thursday.
