DENVER (AP) — Colorado Rockies reliever Matt Herges and first base coach Glenallen Hill have issued written apologies for using performance-enhancing substances.

Herges says he has "no excuse for my actions" and says he's deeply remorseful.

Hill says he "made mistakes and poor decisions in my personal and professional life." He says those mistakes came late in his playing career.

Both issued their statements Wednesday, the same day Roger Clemens his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, testified before Congress about drug use in baseball.
