Utah is getting nearly $67,000 as part of a multi-state fraud settlement against drug maker Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The Utah Attorney General's Office announced Tuesday that Aventis agreed to pay $22.7 million to settle claims it defrauded Medicaid programs by illegally inflating drug prices.

From 1997 to 2004, federal and state attorneys claim, Aventis told pharmacies and hospitals to charge Medicaid a higher price for Anzemet than what was paid. Anzemet is a drug used in oncology and radiation treatments to prevent nausea.
