The University of Utah has announced its 16-member All-Century basketball team as part of its celebration of 100 seasons of intercollegiate men's basketball.

The 16 player-team includes the seven players who have already had their numbers retired by the U.—Arnie Ferrin, Vern Gardner, Billy McGill, Danny Vranes, Keith Van Horn, Andre Miller and Andrew Bogut. The other nine players who will be honored are Jerry Chambers, Tom Chambers, Mike Doleac, Josh Grant, Alex Jensen, Jeff Jonas, Jeff Judkins, Bill Kinner and Mike Newlin.

The All-Century team was determined by fan voting. A committee with extensive knowledge of the Utah basketball program developed a list of 34 nominees. Fans were then allowed to vote on-line and in-person at the first three Runnin' Ute games this season.

Those votes were tallied and the top 16 vote-getters were named to the all-Century Team.

The 16 former Utes will be honored at halftime of Saturday's men's basketball game vs. San Diego State, which begins at 2 p.m. Also, more than 100 former Ute players will also be on hand for the celebration.

Fans can purchase tickets for just $1 (100 cents) until Friday either at the U. ticket office, online at or by calling 801-581-UTIX (8849).
