A bill requiring all motorcycle users to have a valid motor vehicle driver license passed through the House Tuesday.

Under HB72, a person under age 18 would also be required to either take a motorcycle education class or have a learner permit for two months before obtaining an endorsement on their license to ride their motorcycle.

Rep. Paul Neuenschwander, R-Bountiful said his bill was meant as a way to promote education and motorcycle safety. Statistically, more riders die on the road who have not had training than those who have taken a course, he said.
