BOUNTIFUL — Police have arrested a 40-year-old man accused of sending a sexually explicit photo to a teenage boy's cell phone.

Police said the 16-year-old boy received several text messages from someone he didn't know.

"They sent a couple of messages back and forth to each other and eventually this guy sends a picture," police Lt. Randy Pickett said Tuesday.

The boy reported it to police, who tracked down the man through the cell phone number. He was booked into the Davis County Jail on investigation of dealing in harmful material to a minor and distribution of pornography.

A bill is making its way through the Utah State Legislature that would make such explicit text messages a crime of enticing a minor for sex. HB327 is pending a vote before the House.
