SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police are continuing to investigate a takeover style robbery at a Wendy's here Saturday night.

About 8:30 p.m. three men wearing dark clothing and bandanas entered the fast-food restaurant, 919 W. 2100 South, and immediately fired a shot that hit the deep fryer, according to police.

The trio demanded money from the register and left with an undisclosed amount. No customers were in the restaurant at the time, and no one was injured.

On Feb. 1, two men rushed into Molca Salsa, 2901 E. 3300 South, and fired a shot into the ceiling before robbing the registers and the customers.

Detectives said it's too early to tell if the incidents are connected.
