UTAH STATE PRISON — A man convicted of killing his ex-boss will not be released from prison for at least 16 more years.

The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole said in a decision released Monday that Jesus Hernandez will have a rehearing in 2024. Even then, it is no guarantee that he will be released.

Hernandez, 36, was a day laborer who shot his former boss, Joseph Crummy, during an argument about back wages owed to him for work at a Utah County construction site in 2004.
