ST. GEORGE — Police are searching for a man who beat an employee during a robbery at a fast-food restaurant.

Police said just before midnight Saturday, a man ran into a Fazoli's restaurant and hit an employee in the head with a pistol, kicked him several times and then dragged him across the floor.

"The suspect then kicked and hit the employee several more times and robbed him," police Sgt. Craig Harding said Monday. "Another employee entered the room and the suspect pointed the gun at him and ordered him to the ground."

The robber then fled with some money. Police said they are looking for a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5-foot-7 and weighing 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing baggy jeans, a dark shirt and black and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call St. George police at 435-634-5000.
