Sen. Hickman, R-St. George, and the state's population have nothing to feel guilty about in cracking down on illegal immigrants. It is a problem that our politicians have created. By turning a blind eye to the law, they have allowed the situation to expand.

It is the politicians' fault that the human suffering has intensified among the illegal aliens who have been preyed upon by those who employ them and then are pursued by officers who try to enforce the law. The crime has been committed by our government, not by the undocumented.
