The constituents of Sen. Margaret Dayton should be aware of how she is choosing to spend her energy during the current legislative session. Sen. Dayton is sponsoring SB93, a bill endorsed by the Utah Medical Association. The bill's only purpose is to restrain the trade of direct-entry midwives and put their livelihood and legal status into jeopardy. While other legislators focus on bigger and more important issues, Sen. Dayton wastes time on a bill that does not provide any benefits for her constituents or the people of Utah. This is another example of local legislators working harder for their campaign donors than for the citizens who elect them.
