A rollover crash sent two women to the hospital with serious injuries and shut down part of Interstate 80 Tuesday night.

Officials were still investigating what caused the westbound vehicle to roll near State Street just before 10 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden.

Two women in the car broke multiple bones in the crash and were transported to the hospital in "fairly serious condition," Roden said.

For more than an hour, westbound I-80 from 700 East to State Street was closed while crews worked to clear the road.
