The Utah County Attorney's Office is refusing to release transcripts or copies of the 911 calls made to emergency dispatchers on Jan. 6, the day David Ragsdale is accused of killing his wife in the parking lot of an LDS church in Lehi.

A request for a copy of the tapes — or a transcript — was made by the Deseret Morning News through the Government Records Access and Management Act.

In a "notice of denial," Deputy Utah County Attorney Chris Yannelli on Tuesday officially denied the newspaper's GRAMA request, saying the "requested record(s) are classified as protected."

The Deseret Morning News plans to appeal.
