BOISE (AP) — A Bellevue man accused of throwing an icy snowball that smacked a Boise police officer in the face is facing felony charges.

Authorities say Alexander MacDonald, 32, has been charged with assault-battery on a police officer stemming from the episode. Police say Alexander fired a snowball early Sunday morning at an officer who was arresting two people for fighting at an intersection in downtown Boise.

Police say MacDonald was identified with the help of witnesses at the scene.

MacDonald was not among the suspects being arrested for fighting after downtown bars closed.
