FRESNO, Calif. — The Utah Grizzlies open a four-game road swing through California tonight at 8 hoping to pad their one-point lead over Alaska for third place in the ECHL West.

Utah (22-20-0-4) is 3-1 in California this season and moves on to Stockton Wednesday, is back at Fresno Friday and at Bakersfield Saturday before returning to the E Center at 7 on Valentine's Day night to meet Bakersfield.

Tonight's game shapes up as a clash of high-scoring teams. Fresno (25-11-3-3), the No. 5 team overall in the ECHL National Conference, is 7-0 at home lately and has outscored opponents 37-12. It is 6-2-0-2 in its last 10 games. Utah has scored 20 goals in its last four games and is 5-4-0-1 over its last 10.

Falcon Oren Eizenman is the No. 5 scorer in the league with 51 points and ranks No. 5 in goals with 23. He is the top rookie scorer in the league and second among rookie goalscorers. Utah is led by veteran Scott Burt's 37 points with rookies Keith Johnson and Tyler Haskins second with 34 each.
