WEST VALLEY CITY One point behind Alaska and out of third place in the ECHL West, the Utah Grizzlies get three chances to do something about that in the E Center, beginning tonight at 7.
The 20-19-0-4 Grizzlies meet the 20-15-4-1 Aces on home ice tonight, Friday and Saturday, all games at 7, completing a post-All-Star stretch of seven games in nine nights.
It is Alaska's only visit of the season to the E Center, and Utah has already made its one visit to Anchorage, winning two of three games there.
Utah came from behind to win at Bakersfield 3-2 on Tuesday night but is 4-5-0-1 in its last 10 games. Alaska is 3-5-0-2 in the same period.
Ryan Kinasewich remains hot, having scored in eight of the 10 games since he was returned to Utah from AHL Bridgeport. He's scored three goals and has 14 assists in his 10 January games, including a goal and an assist at Bakersfield Tuesday.
Alaska stands third in the league in power-play scoring, successful 21.5 percent of the time, while Utah is 24th and Alaska 25th in the 25-team league in penalty killing at 78.5 and 76.3 percent, respectively.Josh Soares leads the Aces' scoring with 44 points, just ahead of former Grizzly Kimbi Daniels (38). For Utah, Scott Burt has 36 points and Keith Johnson and Tyler Haskins 29 each.
