PROVO — Police have released the name of a woman found dead in her bathtub Tuesday afternoon.

Kristine Thomas, 41, was pronounced dead at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center despite paramedics' attempts to revive her, said Provo Police Capt. Cliff Argyle.

She was found around 1:30 p.m. by a friend who came to pick her up for a planned outing.

The friend called paramedics. They performed CPR on Thomas, who was unconscious and not breathing.

Police called the death an apparent drowning and said the official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office.

At this point, police do not suspect foul play.
