Fifty-seven of Granite School District's most accomplished high school artists will create work during a live art competition Monday, 4-8 p.m., at Taylorsville High School, 5225 S. Redwood Road.

The public is invited to attend this free event and watch as top art students from nine high schools create works of art in such mediums as watercolor, pastel, acrylic, pencil, sculpture and pottery.

Judges for the competition are distinguished local artists: Al Rounds, Susan Gallacher, Jeffrey Hein, J. Dell Morris, Tamara Burnside, Ben Behunin, Jeannine Young and Dahrl Thompson. Cash prizes will be awarded in each category.

Refreshments will be available, as well as a children's area for budding artists. Donations to the Granite Education Foundation will be accepted.
