Apparently, some of our state legislators — including Sen. Howard Stephenson and Rep. Craig Frank — don't like to see public recreation centers competing with private gyms (Jan. 18). Considering the recent complaints involving explicit music, videos and dancing at a certain private gym chain, for all the tax dollars our legislators have traditionally spent on exorcising pornography, is it possible these "representatives of the people" would rather their constituents' dollars be spent on exercising to pornography?
