Firefighters first battled the flames from inside the home but were pulled out after a partial collapse of the ceiling.

Sandy firefighters work at the scene of a house fire at 11535 South and Hickory Valley Drive on Tuesday night. No one was injured in the two-alarm fire, which destroyed part of a home. The blaze started around 5:30 p.m. in the kitchen of the home, according to Zach Robinson, a spokesman for the Sandy Fire Department. Firefighters first battled the flames from inside the home but were pulled out after a partial collapse of the ceiling, Robinson said. The fire was contained mostly to the kitchen area and crews had it extinguished by 7:30 p.m., Robinson said. Investigators were still working Tuesday night to try to determine the cause of the fire.
