I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our Hispanic immigrants — legal and illegal. In my 40-year association with them, I've found them to be hard-working, responsible and with a genuine desire to perform the duties assigned to them. All they ask is the opportunity to improve their lives. More power to them. Utah's economy would shut down without them.

These immigrants never insist on vacation, sick leave, maternity leave, retirement, leaving early or comp time.

I wish I felt the same warmth toward our public servants.
