IVINS, Utah (AP) — In May, Utahns will get another sports team to root for — the Dixie Heat, a semiprofessional team that's part of the World Football League.

The Heat will play in a six-team division against teams from Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico. There will be 14 games, starting in May.

Coaches held tryouts on a soccer field in Ivins, near St. George, over the weekend. League rules call for a roster of 50 players with a 10-man practice squad.

Among the hopefuls were several Dixie State College players who have used up their eligibility. Home games will be played at Snow Canyon High School.
