Shane L. Hanna, David K. Heinhold and Patricia Parkinson have joined Parsons Behle & Latimer at the law firm's Salt Lake City office. Hanna is a member of the corporate and tax department and concentrates his practice on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities and general commercial law. Before joining the firm, he was general counsel and an executive vice president at another company. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah. Heinhold is a member of the corporate and tax department and concentrates his practice on general corporate matters and business transactions. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah. Parkinson is a member of the litigation department and concentrates her practice on securities litigation, personal injury and products liability. Before joining the firm, she was a deputy district attorney in the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office. Her education includes a degree from the University of Utah.

Michael B. Thompson, Arne Jacobsen and Michael Hamling have been named to positions at Mediapoint Entertainment. Thompson has been named chief operating officer, Jacobsen has been appointed vice president of sales and Hamling is now the company's manager of software development Thompson previously was chief executive officer, president and vice president of development at an industrial automation company and his career began in 1976. As COO, Thompson will manage all operations, including research and development, software product development, quality assurance, help desk, information technology and product deployment. Jacobsen has a 30-year career as a sales executive and corporate leader at several organizations. Hamling will manage a team of eight software developers to build a range of applications supporting the company's digital content delivery systems and will be responsible for establishing software development processes. He has more than 15 years of experience in the software industry

Hong Li, Rodd Steuart and Mike McClellan have joined Agel Enterprises. Li was hired as the company's manager for the Southeast Asia market, helping manage operations in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Prior to Agel, Li was the regional manager of the Southeast Asia market for another company. Steuart is Agel's new finance director and will oversee all aspects of international finance for the company. Prior to Agel, Steuart was the director of technological accounting at a high-tech company. McClellan is Agel's new managing director of supply chain and will manage logistics, warehousing and purchase planning for the company. McClellan brings more than 20 years of experience in supply-chain management to Agel.

• Harmons Grocery Stores has promoted and hired several people, due in part to the retirement of long-time executive vice president and chief operations officer Darrell Jensen and grocery sales director Mike Nigh. Mark Jensen, who was most recently Harmons' vice president of fresh foods, has been promoted to replace Darrell Jensen as executive vice president and COO. In this position, he oversees and manages all aspects of store operations. He has worked at Harmons in various positions since 1982. Laura Dykman is Harmons' new director of food safety. Dykman has worked in many positions at Harmons, including education and development associate and assistant to the sales director. Paul Adamson has been promoted to vice president of fresh foods. In this position, Adamson is responsible for managing all fresh food departments, including delicatessens and bistros, bakeries, meat, produce and floral departments. He was most recently a store director. Raymond Lo has been promoted to store director in Harmons' Draper location. Lo oversees all the daily operations of store business. He has also been a Harmons third-person and delicatessen manager. Prior to working at Harmons, Lo was an assistant store director for another grocery chain. Greg Bennion has been hired as director of the West Valley store, overseeing all the daily operations of store business. Previously he was a unit director for a grocery store company in Texas. Mike Arbuckle has been promoted to grocery sales director. Arbuckle is responsible for all grocery buying, promotions and negotiations with vendors. His previous Harmons experience includes positions as a third-person, a store director and a category manager for frozen and grocery. Lori McFarland, who has worked at Harmons for nearly 17 years, has been promoted to director of delicatessen operations. McFarland orchestrates all operations regarding the delicatessen, including bistro carving stations, cheese islands, sandwich shops and salad bars. McFarland started at Harmons as a bagger in 1990 and has held several positions since then.

Todd A. Reece and Melanie R. Clark have joined the Salt Lake City office of law firm Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP. Reece is an associate in the business and finance department, and Clark is an associate in the real estate department. Reece assists companies with financings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, corporate governance and compliance matters, and other business transactions and agreements. In addition, he assists early-stage companies with formation, structure, strategic relationships, venture capital financings and other financings. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University. Clark is a member of the resort and hotel, real estate development, planned communities and condominiums, and zoning and land use groups. She concentrates her practice in real estate and resort development with an emphasis on zoning and entitlements, compliance with the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act and development of timeshares, private residence clubs and condominium hotels. Her education includes degrees from Utah State University and the University of Utah.

Roland Harris and Austin Phillips have joined Onyx Construction as superintendents. Harris has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. He will be lead superintendent for the $20 million dollar Hillside Middle School new construction project that Onyx is starting for the Salt Lake City School District. Phillips has been hired as assistant superintendent and will begin work with the Hillside Middle School project. He has been in the commercial construction industry for seven years and has worked on industrial, retail, office and education construction projects.

Connie Harmston has been appointed director of sales and marketing and Rick Allen has been appointed executive chef at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Centre Hotel. Harmston has more than 20 years of hotel hospitality experience. Most recently, she worked at another Salt Lake City hotel for seven years. Allen has more than 10 years of culinary experience. He spent the last seven years as executive chef at a company in Lehi.
