LOS ANGELES — Davin Harmeling scored a season-high 19 points and No. 4 Washington State beat Southern California 73-58 on Thursday night to give the unbeaten Cougars their best start in 91 years.

Aron Baynes had 18 points and nine rebounds, Taylor Rochestie added 12 points and seven assists and Derrick Low had 10 points and five assists for the Cougars (14-0, 2-0), who beat USC for just the 12th time in 53 road games.

Washington State completes its visit to Los Angeles on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion against No. 5 UCLA (15-1, 3-0) in the sixth-ever Pac-10 game matching two teams ranked in the top five. O.J. Mayo, the Pac-10's leading scorer, led USC (9-6, 0-3) with 22 points and seven rebounds.

No. 5 UCLA 69, WASHINGTON 55: At Los Angeles, Russell Westbrook scored 18 points and UCLA shot better than 52 percent from the field. The Bruins (15-1, 3-0 Pac-10) got 17 points from Luc Richard Mbah a Moute in winning their eighth in a row.

Jon Brockman had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Huskies (9-6, 0-2), who lost to a ranked opponent for the fifth time this season. They shot 42 percent from the field in falling to 3-42 at Pauley Pavilion.

No. 14 BUTLER 74, WIS.-GREEN BAY 65: At Indianapolis, Matt Howard had 22 points and nine rebounds for Butler in its seventh straight win. No. 21 WISCONSIN 70, ILLINOIS 60: At Madison, Wis., Trevon Hughes scored 22 points and Brian Butch added 16 as Wisconsin gave the Illini their first four-game losing streak under coach Bruce Weber.

No. 23 STANFORD 66, OREGON ST. 46: At Corvallis, Ore., Lawrence Hill had 13 points and Brook Lopez had 12 points and nine rebounds.
