BRIGHAM CITY (AP) — A back way into Brigham City could become a grand entrance.

City and Box Elder County officials and a private developer are working on plans to transform an area east of Interstate 15 into a complex including a hotel, nature parks, a commuter rail hub and business complex.

Residential housing is also being considered for the property, which includes a capped landfill between 1200 West and I-15.

County Commissioner Jay Hardy said officials met last week to brainstorm about how the county and the city could work together on the project.

Hardy said talks are only in the early stages, but so far everything is on track.
