LDS Hospital is offering two support groups for people dealing with grief, including one targeting those impacted by a suicide. Both are free and open to adults and teens.

About one in 20 people experience grief due to the loss of a loved one. And more than a million people worldwide commit suicide. In the United States alone, suicides outnumber homicides by 3 to 2.

The suicide support group is open to all adults and teens who have been impacted by suicide and will be held Tuesdays beginning Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Murray, 244 E. Myrtle St., which is one block north of the State Street entrance to Murray Park. Enter through the Teen Club entrance.

The grief and loss support group will be held Tuesdays at 11 a.m. starting Jan. 22 and running through Feb. 22. The group will meet at the LDS Hospital Education Center, 8th Avenue and C Street, in Salt Lake City.

Both support groups are free and include educational materials for participants.

Registration is not required. If you have questions, please contact Helen Rollins, bereavement program director at LDS Hospital, 801-408-5661.
