CEDAR CITY — George Hill scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis to a 78-61 win over Southern Utah on Saturday.

It was Hill's fourth double-double of the season and second straight 30-point game. He scored 34 points at Missouri-Kansas City on Thursday night.

Jon Avery scored 12 points off the bench for the Jaguars (11-3, 3-0 Summit League), who shot 63 percent from the field and 56 percent from 3-point range.

Geoff Payne scored 20 points to lead Southern Utah (4-11, 2-2). The Thunderbirds went 3-19 beyond the 3-point arc.

Southern Utah, which trailed 42-29 at halftime, scored two points in the first seven minutes of the second half.

TROY 80, UVSC 67: At Troy, Ala., Troy University jumped out to a big first-half lead and withstood a number of Utah Valley State runs to beat the Wolverines, 80-67. For the second straight game, Utah Valley broke a school record for 3-pointers as the Wolverines made 14 from beyond the arc. Ryan Toolson led all UVSC (6-10) scorers with 21 points, while Richard Troyer added 17 for the Wolverines. O'Darien Bassett led the Trojans (8-6) with 19 points.

"We got in a deep hole early," Utah Valley coach Dick Hunsaker said. "I thought Troy played a great game and out-energized us early. By the time we matched their energy, we were too far behind."
