The 330 students at the Utah County Academy of Sciences will get a little elbow room in 2008.
The "early college" high school has broken ground on a $1.6 million building on the Utah Valley State College campus.
The facility will include classroom space, a gym and a cafeteria. Currently UCAS has just 11 classrooms and one office.
UCAS is one of Utah's six early college high schools where students simultaneously earn high school and college credits. The school puts an emphasis on science, technology and math.
Students from 26 ZIP codes attend the school, which pays college enrollment and textbook fees for students.
The building is set to open in August.
