Gloria Reuben returns to "ER" in tonight's episode of the long-running series.

Orange Bowl (6 p.m., Ch. 13): Kansas vs. Virginia Tech

Ugly Betty (7 p.m., Ch. 4): Amanda uncovers a secret from Wilhelmina's past. (R)

Deal or No Deal (7 p.m., Ch. 5): Howie Mandel hosts.

College basketball: Hawaii at Utah State (7 p.m., Ch. 14); Loyola Marymount at BYU (7 p.m., The mtn.)

Smallville (7 p.m., Ch. 30): Dean Cain, who played Superman/Clark Kent in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," guest stars as a dastardly villain.

CSI (8 p.m., Ch. 2): Two identical twins — neither of them aware of the existence of the other — are murdered on the same night within a few miles of each other. (R)

Desperate Housewives (9:02 p.m., Ch. 4): ABC repeats the most recent original episode — a great hour in which a tornado hits Wisteria Lane. There's a new episode scheduled to air on Sunday (8 p.m., Ch. 4), which, presumably, will tell us who lives and who dies. But that's also the last original episode sitting on the shelf — we won't get more until after the ongoing writers' strike ends.

ER (9 p.m., Ch. 5): Gloria Reuben, who left the show almost eight years ago, returns as Jeanie Boulet. Longtime fans will remember that Jeanie was a love interest for Dr. Benton (Eriq LaSalle) — she was a physician's assistant who was infected with the HIV virus by her unfaithful husband. In tonight's episode, we learn that Jeanie is an AIDS activist (which Reuben has herself become in real life). When her son is injured, Jeanie brings him to the emergency room where, not surprisingly, she knows no one. (Every regular member of the cast in 2000 has since left the show.) She quickly comes into conflict with Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer), and things go from bad to worse for her.
