BOUNTIFUL — The Bountiful/Davis Art Center will open its first exhibit for the 2008 season titled, "Through the Eyes of the Traveling Artist." It will feature the work of 25 artists whose work has been created or inspired while traveling.

Hors d'oeuvres will be served during the opening reception on Jan. 11, and Katherine St. John and Lloyd Miller will perform. The exhibit will be on display at the center, 745 S. Main, through Feb. 1.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on Mondays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The center is closed on Sundays and holidays.

"The art in this exhibit reflects the views of the artists during their travels to faraway places and was inspired by or during these travels," said executive director Emma Dugal. "We thought it would be interesting to have an exhibit featuring art from artists who have traveled the world, and this exciting exhibit features some of Utah's finest artists."

The 25 artists involved with the exhibit work in a wide variety of mediums, including photography, oil painting, watercolor, pastels and others.
