Admission buttons for Salt Lake City's celebration of the new year are now available and will save partygoers a few bucks if purchased in advance.
Now through Sunday, tickets to First Night Salt Lake can be bought at Albertsons grocery stores and at The Gateway concierge for $8. On Dec. 31, tickets will be $10 and can be purchased at Albertsons, The Gateway and at the Gallivan Plaza.
First Night Salt Lake is an alcohol-free, family-oriented New Year's Eve celebration of the arts that showcases high-quality visual and performing artists. Spokeswoman Danica Farley said the theme for the event, A Spectacular Soiree, celebrates the new year New Orleans-style.
Events include live music, voice, instrument and artistic performers, a parade, interactive art exhibits, karaoke and a fireworks show at midnight. Farley said this year's celebration includes a ball-drop, too. Information and a schedule of events can be found at www.firstnightslc.org.
