More than a dozen local performers many who shared the stage with the late Scott D. Morgan will take part in a pair of fund-raising benefit concerts on Friday to help defray the medical expenses Morgan incurred in the months before his death on Oct. 6.
Candy Revels and Julie Blatter are spearheading the project, which will feature two performances at 6 and 9 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Center, 138 W. Broadway (300 South). All tickets are $15. Tickets will also be available online at www.arttix.com or 355-2787 later this week.
Performers include well-known local opera tenor George Dyer and musical-theater players Daniel Beck, Maurie Tarbox, Cecily Ellis, David Stensrud, Alie Fidel, Katie Fidel, Lynn Chatterton, Trevor Jerome, Kooper Campbell, Wade Walker and Blatter. Linda Jean Stephenson and Ivan M. Lincoln will be masters of ceremonies for the performances.
"Scott touched our lives in so many ways," Revels said, noting that the various actors and musicians will perform selections loved by both Morgan and his wife, Tammy.There will also be a silent auction in the foyer between the two performances. In addition to Friday's fund-raiser, there will be a bake sale and craft fair on Jan. 19, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.
