My family and I see a lot of movies, and I read most of the movie reviews by Jeff Vice. What I have found is that his reviews and the number of "stars" he gives a particular movie often have little or no relationship to the actual entertainment value of the movie.

Comments on profanity, violence, sex, etc., are, of course, helpful, but Mr. Vice highly rates many foreign language and other limited-engagement films and gives ridiculously low ratings to many movies that appeal to the masses.

In addition to a "critical" review, it would be helpful to have an audience rating on just the entertainment value of a movie — perhaps an exit poll broken down by gender and age groups. I suspect that an audience entertainment rating would often be very much at odds with Mr. Vice's rating.
