PLEASANT GROVE — A Utah family's 45,000-light holiday display earned them some early Christmas gifts.

The Holdman family of Pleasant Grove beat out 11 other semifinalists across the country to claim first prize in the KFC Festive Fanatics contest on Friday.

Richard Holdman says it's taken two years to get the display just right. The planning for this year's prize-winner began in July.

With at least 45,000 lights in the display, the KFC prize will help. The Louisville, Ky.-based chicken restaurant chain will pay the Holdmans' December light bill and a credit card bill, and the family gets a year's worth of KFC food as well.
