The junior QB shook off a shaky start, including an interception, by completing 11 consecutive passes. He also ran for a TD.

The Midshipmen have a chance to tie or win after Zerbin Singleton catches a 58-yard touchdown pass and then wrestles an onside kick away from Stevenson Sylvester, but safety Joe Dale saves the Utes from an embarrassing collapse by intercepting Navy at the Utah 31-yard line with about a half minute remaining.

Trailing 28-25 and facing fourth-and-two at the 9-yard line with just more than two minutes remaining, Navy elects to go for the first down deep in its own territory. Quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada is stopped short, however, when Utah defensive end Paul Kruger gives chase and safety Joe Dale makes the tackle.

The Utes head into the 2008 season on a seven-game bowl win streak. When spring practice begins, Utah will return seven offensive starters from the Poinsettia Bowl roster, in addition to injured running back Matt Asiata and receiver Brent Casteel. On defense, the Utes return six starters, and all-American punter/kicker Louie Sakoda will be back for his senior season.
