My daughter was lamenting how some people think they are being more religious by not celebrating a commercial Christmas. I suppose if you think that gift giving is strictly commercial, then you shouldn't celebrate it — nor any other kind of gift-giving event.

I always thought Christmas gift giving was symbolic of the gifts brought to the Savior by the wise men.

But what of Santa Claus? Would that we were all gift-giving Santa Clauses throughout the whole year — whether in sharing, giving or caring. It's sad when the true spirit of Christmas is even lost on the religious.
