VIENNA, Ohio (AP) — A cargo container truck with a boom arm that remained up after a delivery crashed into an overpass Tuesday, killing the driver and rupturing a gas line that forced five homes to be evacuated.

The bottom portion of the bridge was badly damaged at a support beam, and it was closed pending an inspection by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The truck's hydraulic hoist arm hit the underside of the bridge and gashed a natural gas line, State Highway Patrol Lt. Joe Dragovich said. Several other vehicles were involved in the crash.
