LOGAN — A hold on pet adoptions could be lifted next month, if Cache County shelter workers see no additional cases of viral diseases in sheltered animals.

Officials instituted an adoption ban through December after four cases of Parvo and distemper were reported in November.

But some say the ban will result in more animals being euthanized and seek an end to prohibitions.

Four Paws Rescue founder Lisa Shaw says older animals that haven't contracted the diseases should be released for adoption, so they won't be euthanized.
