OGDEN — The Weber County Main Library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., will host its 20th annual "Holiday Open House" on Monday, Dec. 24, noon-3 p.m.

The library staff has made this a yearly event — an attempt to reach out to the lonely, to those who otherwise have nowhere to spend the holiday season.

The event is not connected to a particular holiday — just an event for fun, fellowship and free food.

Invitations to the event have been sent to area homeless shelters. Local companies and restaurants are helping to prepare a special meal.

The event usually attracts about 500 people.

The Weber Library Foundation provides postcards for anyone who wishes to contact a friend or family member. The event also includes live music and story time. Legendary jazz musician Joe McQueen will be performing in the lobby.

More information on the event is available by calling 1-801-337-2660.
