PROVO — The National League for Nursing has presented Brigham Young University professor Lynn Clark Callister with its Excellence in Teaching Award.

Callister received the award in honor of her contributions as an outstanding nurse educator who fosters excellence in the teaching-learning process. Callister's other awards this year include being appointed to the International Advisory Council of the Fulbright Academy of Science and Technology in April. In June, the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nursing presented her with the Distinguished Professional Service Award. Also this year, Callister received the Sigma Theta Tau International Excellence in Research Award for her research of childbirth in various cultures.

In 20 years of teaching at BYU, Callister has mentored dozens of students.
