Utah artist Bill Hensler is creating a mural depicting life under the sea for The Living Planet Aquarium's soon-to-be opened Calypso's Cafe.

Hensler, a Provo resident and owner of Illusion Art and Foux, has been a professional artist for 18 years. His work can be seen in several businesses, such as Tuscany Restaurant, Ivory Homes and several dental offices, as well as in the Utah Water Gallery at The Living Planet Aquarium.

Brent Andersen, CEO of The Living Planet Aquarium, wanted Calypso's Cafe to have a nautical theme. The counter is designed as a sunken ship complete with sandbars and sea shells. Andersen asked Hensler to create the artistic backdrop that allows visitors to immerse themselves in an underwater experience complete with coral reefs, divers and stingrays.

The Living Planet Aquarium, 725 E. 106000 South, Sandy, is open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission tickets are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors, students and military personnel; $6 for children ages 3-17; and free for children under 2.
