MURRAY — Hamlet Homes and Murray city officials celebrated a new mixed-use development at a ceremonial groundbreaking in the city's Fireclay District this week.

The development is the first to break ground in Murray's 97-acre redevelopment area that is designed around mixed use and transportation elements. When it is completed, the 30-acre community, located at 4295 South and Main Street, will contain more than 330 townhomes and condos and 250,000 square feet of commercial space.

The Birkhill at Fireclay development is working in cooperation with UTOPIA to provide high-speed internet and digital television. The first building is scheduled to be done by August 2008.
